As a teen achieving a work-life balance can be challenging when you have school work, social life, and extracurriculars. Achieving a work-life balance will help you throughout your adulthood and sets you for a productive life.

Here are 8 tips for achieving a work life balance.

1. Manage your time wisely

Have a planner with you by your side, whether it’s a physical or digital one. Delegate your work into time blocks, set deadlines for yourself, and plan out your day the night before to organize your time effectively.

2. Prioritize your health

Maintain a regular sleeping schedule. Take care of your physical health by playing a sport, walking your dog, or taking a yoga class. Eat healthily and try to eat home-cooked food as much as possible.

3. Don't forget to socialize

It's easy to be caught up with work but you need to interact with others. Socializing with friends and family improves your mental well-being and gives you greater self-esteem.

4. Build a support network

Having an accountability partner keeps you on track and improves your productivity overall. An accountability partner gives you honest feedback and gives you another perspective on what you are doing.

5. Avoid procrastination

Procrastination keeps your work piling up, and starts a loop of laziness. Some ways to avoid procrastination are to break your work into little steps, visualize yourself completing your task, and rewarding yourself after your task is completed.

6. Avoid distractions

It’s easy to get distracted especially with your phone. Try to turn off notifications, delete unnecessary apps, and put your phone away when doing work.

7. Stick to good habits

Habits grow stronger day by day, therefore it is crucial that you set good habits for yourself. Some habits you can try to form are reading 30 minutes a day, having a skincare routine, or waking up early.

8. Make time for yourself

Don't be afraid to unplug and rest when you need it. Take some time off by reading a book or writing in a journal. Also taking some time off will help you clear and refresh your mind.
